A Guided Journey
In 2008, I was guided to say “YES” to a free ticket for a conference about writing your story. It felt like one of those serendipitous moments you only see in movies, where the universe nudges you with an invitation that’s impossible to ignore. The catch? The event was in Las Vegas, and while the ticket was free, I’d have to cover my travel, lodging, and meals.
At the time, things at home were not great. I had three young children, ages 2, 4, and 13, and I was battling undiagnosed postpartum depression that made everything in life feel like it was stuck on “extra hard” mode. Still, after a series of unexpected spiritual awakenings, I felt more tapped into the cosmic nature of reality than ever before, even as I struggled to stabilize it all with both feet firmly planted on the ground.
It was a 3-day trip. Inconvenient, yes, but not impossible. And truthfully, I desperately needed a break. Taking the steps to actually claim that break came with its own set of challenges. Even though I was shamed into the role of “fleeing” (a story for another time), I couldn’t shake the feeling that this was something I had to do.
The moment I said yes, the universe seemed to conspire to show me I was on the right path. The biggest sign of all was during the descent toward the Las Vegas airport, where I came face to face with a glowing crescent moon on the clearest night, Venus shining bright by her side. To anyone else, it might have seemed like just a pretty night sky. But to me, it was a symbol of alignment, and I needed that.
Yet even with this cosmic reassurance, stepping away from my family felt impossibly hard. I was so used to putting everyone else first, dismissing my own needs and desires in devotion to what I thought I was supposed to be doing for everyone else. For years, that quiet, persistent inner knowing that nudged me toward choices aligned with my heart had been drowned out, dismissed, and even mocked. Living a life guided by intuition and creativity was something I’d been taught to mistrust.
Thankfully, that voice is as persistent as it is patient, continuing to persevere through layers of doubt, shame, and fear, waiting for me to return to my original way of sensing.
Reclaiming my connection to this inner guidance wasn’t a single moment of clarity; it was a winding journey of reclaming what I had always known but couldn’t quite bring myself to trust. That trip to Las Vegas became a spark for something greater. It was one of the first steps in rebuilding a right relationship with my inner wise one.
This journey back to myself became the foundation for how I now guide other women. It’s the heartbeat of what I call Creative Synthesis™: a practice born from the need to reconnect with a life that is both intuitive and grounded. It’s about giving ourselves permission to listen deeply, honor what we hear, and craft a life in alignment with that inner knowing.
Why Creative Synthesis?
Sitting in that conference, surrounded by people sharing their stories, I started to see my own life as a tapestry. Every thread, no matter how tangled or painful, had its place. But seeing the patterns wasn’t enough. I needed tools to engage with those threads, to reshape the narrative and infuse it with the meaning I longed for.
Two practices became my lifelines: astrology and creative self-expression. Each on its own was transformative, but together, they unlocked something even deeper – a way to listen, act, and trust the wisdom that flows through me.
Astrology gave me a map. It illuminated the cycles, challenges, and opportunities written into my life’s blueprint. For instance, learning about my karmic heritage through the story of the South Node of the Moon in Cancer was a revelation. It explained why the pull to nurture, understand, and even fix others (often at my own expense), was so strong in my life. But it also offered a way forward, showing me how to create boundaries that honored the best parts of that caring nature while letting go of the need to control or “fix” anyone else’s life.
This remains a delicate line I walk every day, but astrology reminds me that growth is a process. The wisdom in my natal chart continues to unfold, offering new insights when I need them most.
Creativity, on the other hand, became the bridge between understanding and action. For so much of my life, I believed I didn’t have a “creative bone” in my body. Fortunately, my fingers found their way to markers and colored pencils for the first time in forever, and that simple act changed everything.
In those quiet, unassuming moments of sketching, doodling, or simply playing with color, I discovered something profound: creativity has a way of anchoring me in the present moment. It’s not about making art for anyone else or achieving some perfect result. It’s about the act of creating itself, of letting the hands move while the heart begins to heal.
These two modalities – astrology and creative self-expression – together became the foundation for what I now call Creative Synthesis.™ They taught me to trust my inner wise one, even when the world seemed determined to drown her out.
What Is Creative Synthesis?
Astrology and creativity converge in so many beautiful ways. What makes Creative Synthesis unique is that it’s not just a method or a set of tools – it’s a way of being, both in the world and in my work.
This approach is deeply rooted in the principles of psychosynthesis, a field that has quietly shaped my life for years and that I’ve committed to studying in earnest this past year. Psychosynthesis teaches us to integrate the many parts of ourselves into a cohesive, compassionate whole (or as close as possible). Similarly, Creative Synthesis provides a unified field of compassion where inspired insight and practical action meet; a space where the wisdom of astrology, intuition, and emotion is brought to life through bold acts of creation.
In practice, this could look like creating a vision board inspired by your birth chart, journaling in rhythm with the cycles of the Moon, or letting your hands mold clay or paint as your body processes and integrates what your spirit knows.
The beauty of Creative Synthesis is its adaptability.
It meets you exactly where you are.
This isn’t about following a rigid formula or striving for perfection. It’s about honoring your process. It’s about allowing the self – aligned, awakened, and integrated – to emerge as the true product of your journey. Whether your canvas is a journal page or your life itself, Creative Synthesis invites you to create from a place of authenticity, curiosity, and deep inner trust.
